Girl's World was a strange one. A decapitated female bonce on a plinth. The idea was to style its hair and practise makeup techniques, using the coloured crayons and powders supplied. I was bewildered by it and had no idea what to do. It was my mum's idea of an appropriate gift. I was a real let-down to her with my love of Lego and Spirograph. She was like an Anglo-Irish Nancy Dell Olio, but without the ludicrous pretensions of being an intellectual. Even now I cannot bear to smear that greasy muck on my face. Another reason I don't 'date'.

I had one of those. He had the magnifying eye that you looked through from the back of his head, and Action Man had the swively 'Eagle Eyes'.
I also seem to remember that his legs snapped on and off which was a bit of a lame way to try to show that they were bionic.
